Broken Campagnolo Cranks

These guys had such a nice looking ride along the beach, and then BAM! 
But strangely enough, they don't look that sad anyway?

I think it's always somewhat of an accomplishment when a person manages to break a seemingly sturdy piece of bicycle equipment (I had two rim-sidewalls separate, on different occasions thankfully).

The Campy BMX cranks are widely rumored to have problems with breaking, so why not?
